The way in which the Island manages and monitors demand for social housing is changing in order to make it more equitable and accessible for local residents. With effect from January 2012 the Affordable Housing Gateway will become the single point of access for residents wishing to be considered for affordable housing, or wishing to transfer within the social housing stock. It will manage a single waiting list which all social housing providers will use when allocating 100% of their stock.

The Gateway will receive and assess all waiting list and transfer list applications for the Housing Department and five Housing Trusts. It will bring together both the Housing Department and the Housing Trusts’ waiting lists, thereby removing duplication and providing a more accurate and statistical view of the need for housing on the Island.

Les Vaux Housing Trust have now closed their waiting list and therefore all new applications will need to be made through the Affordable Housing Gateway. A copy of the application form can be downloaded at: www.gov.je
